SCRIP is gift certificates that can be used like cash. You can use SCRIP to purchase everyday items like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn money for Holy Cross School. You can even apply 50% of the money earned for the school family, or church organization of your choice. This is a no-cost fundraiser for you. You purchase the gift certificates at face value and receive the full face value for them from the merchants. The retailer discounts the cost to us when we purchase them. This discount is then applied 50% directly to the school and 50% to the account of your choice! For your convenience, we stock many popular certificates, such as K-Mart, CVS, Sunrise, several gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants. Other gift certificates (scrip) may be ordered--if your order is placed by Monday 9 a.m. your certificates will be available for pickup on Friday. Did you know that Kroger Scrip cards are now rechargeable? What does this mean? You visit the Scrip desk at St. Catherine or Holy Cross (one time) and buy on of these rechargeable cards. Every time you shop at the new Kroger in Algonac (or any Kroger), you simply recharge your card at the service desk or the check out line BEFORE YOUR ORDER RINGS then use your card exactly like a gift card to pay for your purchases. Your credit is automatically processed and is sent to the Scrip office via a monthly report. The Kroger cards are sold for values of $25 and $100 at St. Catherine. At Holy Cross $5 cards are available. But remember the card can be recharged at any time for any amount. So you could buy a card at your local Scrip office and take it to Kroger the same day to increase the value for a gift to a loved one or as a donation to your favorite local charity to help with their holiday shopping.
